Considering Carpet Tile Squares?

by admin on August 13th, 2020

For a unique way to carpet any floor in your home, you can consider installing carpet tile squares. These squares are perfect for use in hallways and garages as well as on porches and outdoor decks. One innovative idea is to combine numerous squares to create an area rug.

The squares typically measure eighteen inches on each side and they can be found in a wide variety of styles, designs and colors. The pile is usually shorter than what you see with regular carpeting but you can choose the thickness that suits you best.

Carpet squares are so simple to install that anyone can do it. Most have a tacky backing while others will require a small amount of adhesive to stay in place. Still others can be installed with double-sided tape or have a peel and stick option that will make things even easier. The only tools you need are a ruler or yardstick and a carpet knife. Experts recommend that you clean the floor thoroughly before you start.

If you are planning on creating a multicolored pattern or design, you can draw it on a piece of graph paper first. Then you can color it to give you a good idea of what the final design will look like. The room should be measured from baseboard to baseboard. Take the drawing and the measurements with you to the carpet store.

Squares are a whole lot easier to transport than a roll of carpet. They are packed in small boxes that will fit easily in the back seat or trunk of your car. The ease of transport is especially important if you need to navigate stairs when getting the carpet to its destination.

These squares can be vacuumed the same way you would a regular rug. You can also steam clean them if you need to remove stubborn stains.
